Maidsy Service Guidelines

Welcome to Maidsy, India’s leading self-serve platform for hiring domestic staff. We connect you with verified house help profiles in your area, enabling direct communication for a nominal platform fee. Please review our service guidelines to ensure a seamless experience.

Self-Serve Plans (Extended Full-time, Full-time & Part-time Engagements)

With our self-serve plans (Rs. 1,499 + 18% GST and Rs. 2,999 + 18% GST):

  • Your Responsibility: You(the employer) are responsible for discussing terms, negotiating salaries, and hiring house help based on your requirements.
  • Platform-Only Role: Maidsy provides Aadhaar-verified profiles but is not liable for the behaviour of the house help, theft, or damages.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure police verification of the house help after hiring as per Indian law. Treat house help with dignity, adhere to Indian labour laws, and ensure salary payment between the 1st and 5th of each month.

Assisted Services (Stay-in – Residential Engagement)

We provide a 6-month prepaid subscription for the Stay-in (Residential) engagement, for a one-time service fee payment, with an option to subscribe later for replacements and premium customer support. (Renewal is not mandatory)

Terms and Conditions:

The agreement outlines the terms and conditions governing the relationship between MAIDSY, the Customer, and the Staff.

1. Contract Period:

The stay-in(residential) Staff contract period is six() months.

2. Employment Terms:

Leave: Staff is entitled to two() paid leaves per month, under Indian Labour Law. Unused leaves can be accumulated by the Staff and taken together (e.g., four() days every two months). Staff must provide at least one() week advance notice to the Customer and MAIDSY before taking leave.

Backup Staff: MAIDSY can provide backup Staff during regular leave periods upon request(optional). The Customer is responsible for paying the backup Staff directly for their daily wages on the days they work.

Replacements: During the six-month contract, Maidsy provides multiple replacements if the staff leaves and up to three replacements if the customer requests a change. Replacements typically take 3 to 7 days.

Mutual Agreement: Continued employment beyond the stay-in(residential) contract period requires mutual agreement between the Customer and the Staff. Neither party can force the other to continue employment.

3. Customer Terms:

Designated Household: Staff is assigned to work exclusively in the Customer's designated household. Sharing Staff between households is prohibited.

Scope of Work: Staff responsibilities should align with the initially agreed-upon scope of work (ex: Cooking, Babysitting, Housekeeping, or Elderly Care). Any changes to the scope of work require prior agreement between all parties.

Staff Treatment: Stay-in(Residential) Staff must be treated fairly and provided with a safe working environment, including two() hours of rest during the day and eight() hours of uninterrupted sleep at night.

Salary Payment: The Customer must pay the Staff directly (cash or electronic transfer) between the st and th of each month, based on the number of workdays and leave(s) availed. If the Staff relieves mid-month, the Customer must clear the balance of salary. MAIDSY does not pay Staff salaries, as it only provides staffing services.

Plan & Service Period Policy: The Stay-in(Residential) plan cannot be changed to full-time or part-time. The contract period( months) cannot be shortened, and no refunds will be provided for unused service.

4. Customer Conduct:

Respectful Treatment: The Customer must treat the Staff with respect. Ill-treatment, abuse, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

Legal Action: Any reported misconduct by the Customer/Staff will be addressed through legal action under the jurisdiction of the Madras High Court.

5. Service Charge:

One-Time Fee: TA one-time, non-refundable service charge equal to one month of Staff's monthly salary + 18% GST /- is payable upfront to MAIDSY by the Customer. This fee is separate from the monthly Staff salary(which is paid after the Staff completes one month of work).

No Renewal Fee: There is no renewal fee after the six-month contract. The customer can keep the same Staff if they wish without paying MAIDSY. A one-time fee will apply for future services, as and when replacement and/or premium customer support is needed (optional after six months).

Staff Retention: MAIDSY will not recall Staff from a Customer's home after the six-month contract period, provided the arrangement is mutually agreeable, due to MAIDSY's extensive resource database

6. Holidays & Staff Availability:

Replacements during peak demand periods (e.g., Diwali, Pongal) may be limited and may take longer than usual up to 15 days.

7. Confidentiality and General Guidelines:

No Personal Favours/Advances: Customer should not pay salary advances to Staff or grant personal favours. MAIDSY will not be responsible for any such payments, or favours made.

Emotional Attachment: MAIDSY is not responsible for any consequences arising from emotional attachments between the Customer and the Staff.

MAIDSY’s Liability: MAIDSY checks the Aadhaar and court records of the Staff. While responsible for Staff background, MAIDSY is not liable for future actions (e.g., theft, damage). The Customer is advised to safeguard their valuables and secure their belongings.

Post–Staff Departure: Customer should change passwords and secure their belongings after a Staff permanently leaves their employment

No Direct Contact: Customers should refrain from contacting former Staff directly. If former Staff reach out, customers are advised not to engage in conversation.

8. Dispute Resolution:

Report to MAIDSY: Any issues, misbehaviour, or concerns regarding the Staff/Customer must be reported to MAIDSY for resolution. Direct action or retaliation by either party is prohibited.

All disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the Madras High Court.

Note for House Help

  • Maidsy collects and shares your information securely with interested employers, following the DPDP Act 2023.
  • This job service for house help is free, and Maidsy does not charge any platform onboarding fees.
  • In the case of full-time/part-time jobs, Maidsy is an aggregator platform that connects you with nearby potential employers. We are not responsible for customer behaviour, unpaid salaries, or any harassment
  • It is your responsibility to maintain professionalism and avoid illegal activities. Salary disputes or other issues must be addressed directly with the employer.
  • For stay-in(residential) jobs, Maidsy ensures that you will receive your salary within the 5th of each month. You will be treated with respect and provided with basic amenities, including 2 paid leave days, a 2-hour rest period during the day, and 8 hours of nighttime rest, following Indian labour laws.
